  1. In my 20 years of offering support and comfort to clergy sex abuse victims, this is among the most egregious cases I’ve ever come across.

My heart aches for Debbie and the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of deeply wounded men and women who have been molested and assaulted by Baptist clergy and then hurt and betrayed again by a callous church hierarchy.

What disturbs me most in this situation is the callous nature of the response that victims seem to be getting. Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite should teach us something. Admitting to things going on and vowing to do something about it is much better than denying it and dragging everyone down with you.
